Description: Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) signaled that he is open to the possibility of a “meat tax” to help combat climate change, according to a video of a Q&A session at his town hall event in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Thursday. A town hall attendee asked the presidential candidate what he would do to address the meat industry’s impact on climate change and floated a “meat tax,” which Sanders did not immediately dismiss:

“As you probably know, animal agriculture is to blame for the majority of climate change and is the leading cause of deforestation water and air pollution and biodiversity loss,” the woman said. “With that being known, what do you plan on doing to ensure that Americans limit their consumption of animal products?” she asked. She immediately followed up with a second question, mentioning Germany’s consideration of a “meat tax” designed to halt meat consumption. “Germany has imposed a meat tax in hopes of limiting this consumption,” she said.

“What are your plans to stop these large corporations from further usurping natural resources and polluting the planet?” While Sanders did not delve into details, he praised the woman’s questions and failed to rule out the consideration of a “meat tax” in the U.S. “Thank you for the question, and it’s a good question. All I can say is if we believe, as I do and you do, that climate change is real, we’re gonna have to tackle it in every area, including agriculture,” Sanders said. “In fact, one of the things we want to do with our farmers out there is help them become more aggressive and able to help us combat climate change, rather than contribute to it,” he continued. “You’re right. We got to look at agriculture. We’ve got to look at every cause of the crisis that we face,” he added.

Sanders: Climate Change Deniers ‘Should Not Be in Congress’

Description: Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) does not believe that skeptics of the progressive wing’s stance on climate change should serve in Congress, he tweeted Sunday. “If you don’t believe in climate change you should not be in Congress,” Sanders declared in a tweet Sunday evening:

bernie-ocasio-cortez-congress.jpg

“Donald Trump says climate change is not a serious issue. Allow me to respectfully disagree with our ‘stable genius’ president—I happen to believe the scientists,” he wrote in a separate tweet: However, the “97 percent” consensus, which Sanders often refers to, is simply untrue. John Cook – the Australian global warming activist behind the so-called “consensus” – deliberately drove the study to provide the outcome he desired using crooked methodology. As Breitbart News explained in part:
Next we find Cook digging himself still deeper by referring to a chosen methodology – its name coined by one of his associates, Ari – as the “porno approach.” What he means, presumably, is that rather than allowing for rigour and nuance, his paper will be researched in such a way as to deliver the most dramatic, headline results possible. Not just tasteful nudie pix, then, but hardcore with donkeys… Okay, so we’ve ruled out a definition of AGW being ‘any amount of human influence’ or ‘more than 50 percent human influence.’ We’re basically going with Ari’s porno approach (I probably should stop calling it that) which is AGW = ‘humans are causing global warming’. e.g. – no specific quantification which is the only way we can do it considering the breadth of papers we’re surveying. Under these criteria even an otherwise arch-skeptical paper conceding that, say, the methane from the farts of beef and dairy cattle might have a marginal influence on climate, could be claimed by Cook et al as being in support of the “consensus.”

While Sanders has made climate change a central issue to his campaign, Hurricane Dorian – the Category 5 hurricane battering the Bahamas and threatening the east coasts of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas – may have inspired his latest bout. The Vermont senator rolled out his $16.3 trillion Green New Deal last month, in which he identified climate change as the “single greatest challenge facing our country.” He pointed to “extreme” weather like floods, droughts, wildfires, and hurricanes but failed to note that those occurrences are not confined to the modern era, as Breitbart News noted. Nonetheless, Sanders’ plan aims for “100 percent renewable energy for electricity and transportation by no later than 2030 and complete decarbonization by at least 2050.” As Breitbart News reported:
Sanders’ exhaustive plan covers virtually every angle of the climate change “crisis,” from promising to “fully electrify and decarbonize” the transportation sector, to investing $1.12 billion in “tribal land access and extension programs,” to providing “oral translation assistance to USDA, FDA, and DOJ offices for non-English speaking farmers,” to pouring $200 billion in the Green Climate Fund.

Sanders’ plan also calls to “prosecute and sue the fossil fuel industry for the damage it has caused”:
When it was revealed in 2015 that the fossil fuel industry knew their actions were contributing to climate change decades ago, Bernie sent a letter to then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch asking her to open a federal investigation to find out whether the industry violated the law. President Bernie Sanders will ensure that his Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission investigate these companies and bring suits – both criminal and civil – for any wrongdoing, just as the federal government did with the tobacco industry in the 1980s. These corporations and their executives should not get away with hiding the truth from the American people. They should also pay damages for the destruction they have knowingly caused.

“Fossil fuel executives should be criminally prosecuted for the destruction they have knowingly caused,” Sanders tweeted following his plan’s release: Last month, Sanders called President Trump an “idiot” for remaining skeptical. “Donald Trump believes climate change is a hoax,” he wrote. “Donald Trump is an idiot”:

Description: Not only can you not eat Chick-Fil-A because the left says it's a homophobic company, but now it looks like you can't even enjoy a nice juicy hamburger either. Bernie Sanders, the Vermont Democratic Socialist and perennial government welfare recipient...I mean public servant...told a crowd of supporters on the 2020 campaign trail on Thursday that he would be open to new taxes on food, similar to European nations, in order to discourage Americans from buying meats and certain agricultural products. The question came from a young woman in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She said, "So as you probably know animal agriculture is to blame for the majority of climate change and is the leading cause of deforestation water and air pollution and biodiversity loss with that being known what do you plan on doing to ensure that Americans limit their consumption of animal products? "Second part," she continued, "Germany has imposed a 'meat tax' in hopes of limiting this consumption. What are your plans to stop these large corporations from further usurping natural resources and polluting the planet? " Sanders responded by saying, "Thank you for the question and it's a good question all I can say is if we believe as I do and you do that climate change is real we're gonna have to tackle it in every single area including agriculture, okay? "And in fact, one of the things we want to do with our farmers out there is help them become more aggressive." he continued, "and able to help us combat climate change rather than contribute to it. So we will certainly... you're right we got to look at agriculture. We've got to look at every cause of the crisis that we face." Incredible. We finally have enough food to feed the planet and progressives say, "No, you can't eat any of it."

Description: Bernie Sanders’ campaign was sitting around trying to figure out how to make Americans hate his socialist policies more and came up with the brilliant idea of slapping a huge tax on meat. Seriously, this commie piece of crap is looking at imposing a tax to stop people from eating meat in order to save the planet from mythical global warming. Americans will tolerate a lot of garbage, but this is something that will trigger a violent civil war. When the meat runs out, the gun come out.
Bernie suggests he is open to a “meat tax,” other efforts to target animal agriculture
— RNC Research (@RNCResearch) August 30, 2019

At a rally, Bernie took a completely “unscripted” question from a woman who read it off of her phone: “As you probably know, animal agriculture is to blame for the majority of climate change and is the leading cause of deforestation, water and air pollution, and biodiversity loss,” started the woman. Then why the hell do they call it “man-made” global warming? Shouldn’t it be animal-made? I’m assuming this is part of that cow farts thing AOC was warning about. “What do you plan on doing to ensure that Americans limit their consumption of animal products? Second part, Germany has imposed a meat tax in hopes of limiting this consumption. What are your plans to stop these large corporations from usurping natural resources and polluting the planet?” asked the woman. Now Bernie is a democrat, so he can’t give a direct answer, but the gist of things is that yes, he’s down for a meat tax and hell yes he’s going to stop large corporations from selling affordable meat to American consumers. “All I can say is, if we believe, as I do and you do, that climate change is real, we’ll have to tackle it in every single area including agriculture,” began Sanders. Like I said, that’s a big yes on a meat tax. Somehow Bernie’s answer got worse: “One of the things we want to do with our farmers out there is help them become more aggressive and able to help us combat climate change, rather than contribute to it,” said Bernie. So basically, he’s going to force farmers out of the meat production business. He says he’s going to “help” the farmers stop contributing to climate change, but chances are they won’t see it as all that helpful when they can no longer make a living producing meat.

soylent-green-with-more-real-people.gif

Here’s an observance and it’s probably something you’ve also noticed: every single proposal from a democrat costs us money and strips our freedom in an effort to fix a problem that doesn’t even exist. You’ve never seen a democrat throw something out there that would put more money in our pockets, expand our freedom, or come close to solving a real problem. As for this meat tax business, I want Bernie to explain to poor people, especially poor black people, that he’s going to price them out of being able to eat a burger or a chicken sandwich. “You’ll have free shitty health care but no more Chick-fil-A for you.” I’m guessing that won’t gain him a lot of support in the minority communities. With me, if the democrats make meat is so expensive that I can no longer afford it, much of what I enjoy about life would be gone and it wouldn’t be something I’d accept quietly. Take my meat or take my beer and I’m going do something about it. This is probably a moot point because if Bernie gets to impose his socialist hell on America, nobody would have meat. Or toilet paper. Or anything.
